MAHATMA GANDHI CENTENARY SCHOOL AND COLLEGE REPORT 2025-2026

TEACHERS ORIENTATION

Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School and College recently organized an insightful Teachers' Orientation Programme, beginning with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by the school's leadership. The session provided a collaborative platform for educators to align with the institution's mission and discuss innovative teachingstrategies for the upcoming academic year. This initiative underscored the school's commitment to professional development and excellence in student care.

FRESHER’S DAY

The College recently organized a vibrant Freshers Day to welcome its new students. The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by the faculty and guests, followed by a warm welcome address to inspire the incoming batch.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The Mahatma Gandhi Centenary (MGC) School and College held its formal Investiture Ceremony for the 2025-26 academic year to appoint the new student leadership team. The solemn event featured the traditional lighting of the lamp and the official pinning of badges and sashes onto the newly elected student council members. Clad in formal blazers, the student leaders took a pledge to serve the institution with discipline and integrity, marking the beginning of their responsibilities in fostering a positive school environment.

YOGA DAY

Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School and College observed International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm, featuring a mass demonstration of various asanas by students in the assembly hall. The event highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being, fostering a spirit of discipline and mindfulness across the campus.

GREEN DAY

Following the earlier celebrations, MGC School and College held an impactful awareness program focused on environmental conservation. The event featured a stage presentation by students highlighting green initiatives, which was followed by a large-scale student procession where the entire school community took a collective pledge to protect our planet.

SAFETY AWARENESS

In collaboration with the Inchara Foundation, Our School hosted an essential awareness session on Personal Safety and Safe Touch for its students. The program used age-appropriate demonstrations and interactive discussions to teach children how to identify unsafe situations and the importance of speaking up to trusted adults. This initiative reflects the school's commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and confidence needed to ensure their personal safety.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

To provide an orientation for PUC and SSLC students, our school organized a formal program focused on academic preparation and holistic development. The session, which began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, featured expert speakers who guided the students on effective study techniques and career paths. This orientation aimed to provide the final-year students with the motivation and clarity needed to excel in their board examinations and future endeavours.

OLYMPIAD EXAM

Olympiad exams are prestigious competitive tests conducted for students from Classes 1 to 12 to evaluate their conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills in subjects like Mathematics, Science, and English.These examinations go beyond regular school curriculum by focusing on logical reasoning and analytical thinking, helping students identify their academic strengths on a national or international level. Participation also offers valuable benefits, including scholarships, medals, and certificates that boost a student's confidence and academic profile for future competitive exams.

PTA MEETING

The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) meeting at MGC School was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation from parents and faculty members. Important matters regarding students’ development, school activities, and future plans were discussed to enhance the overall growth of the institution. The meeting strengthened the partnership between parents and teachers for the betterment of the students.

INTERACT CLUB

The Interact Club organized an informative and inspiring talk for students to encourage leadership, service, and social responsibility. COMPETITIONS

MGC School and College organized a vibrant series of inter-class competitions that encouraged students to showcase their diverse talents in both performing and visual arts. The events featured energetic dance and singing performances centeredaround patriotic themes, alongside creative sessions in drawing, clay modelling, and fancy dress. These competitions, ranging from elocution to SUPW craft, provided a holistic platform for students to express their creativity beyond the standard academic curriculum.

TARANGOTSAV 2025: A Celebration of Cultural Excellence

The Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School & College successfully organized Tarangotsav, a vibrant cultural fest where students enthusiastically participated in a wide array of competitions. The event featured powerful stage performances, including dances and environmental awareness skits where children advocated for nature and water conservation. The celebration concluded with a sense of pride as winners were honoured with trophies for their exceptional talents and sportsmanship.

SPORTS DAY

The Annual Sports Day at our school was a grand success, beginning with a solemn lamp-lighting ceremony to mark the official opening of the events. Students from various houses displayed incredible spirit and sportsmanship as they competed in a wide range of track and field activities on the school grounds. The day concluded with a triumphant prize distribution ceremony, where winners were honoured with trophies for their outstanding athletic achievements.

OUTREACH PROGRAMME

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, our school was organized an impactful outreach program and educational excursion, where students and staff engaged with the community in a spirit of service. The program allowed children to step beyond their regular school timetable to experience real-world learning, fostering empathy and environmental awareness as they explored new surroundings together. This initiative successfully strengthened the bond between the institution and the community, leaving the students with cherished memories and a deeper understanding of their role as responsible citizens.

KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA

The celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School & College was a grand tribute to the state's rich cultural heritage, highlighted by students performing traditional dances and songs in honor of Karnataka. The event fostered a deep sense of pride as children engaged with the language and history, reflecting the importance of the Kannada language as seen in the school's educational charts. This vibrant celebration concluded with a commitment to preserving our linguistic roots and celebrating the unity of our state.

REPUBLIC DAY

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and solemnity. The event featured a ceremonial lamp lighting and the honouring of guests with floral tributes to mark the significance of the day. The program concluded with a proud prize distribution ceremony, where students and NCC cadets were recognized for their achievements and dedication to national service.

FAREWELL

The 10th Standard Farewell ceremony was a heart-warming event, bringing together students and faculty to celebrate the journey and achievements of the graduating class. Dressed in elegant formal attire, the students shared a memorable day filled with reflection, joy, and collective pride as they prepared to embark on their next academic chapters. The program concluded with a beautiful group photo, capturing the strong bonds of friendship and the school’s best wishes for their future success.

FAREWELL OF PUC STUDENTS

The PUC students' farewell was a sophisticated and emotional celebration, with students dressed in stunning formal wear and sarees to mark the end of their pre-university journey. The event featured a grand gathering on stage where the graduating class, alongside their teachers, shared a moment of unity and reflection on their growth within the institution. It was a memorable send-off that celebrated their academic transition and the lifelong friendships formed during their time at the college.

FAREWELL OF UKG STUDENTS

The KG Graduation and Farewell was a joyful celebration where the youngest learners were honoured for completing their foundational years. Dressed in adorable red and white graduation gowns and caps, the children proudly received their certificates on a beautifully decorated stage. The event captured a significant milestone, marking their transition to primary school with bright smiles and cherished memories.
